Last week the
house inspector came to my home. He was working for the financer, and his job
was to go through the house, top to bottom and let the financer know of any
problems or potential problems this house might have.
He examined the
house from the peak of the roof to the slab.
He looked at
the furnace and checked the plumbing. He took the covers off of electrical
outlets and checked the way they were wired. He used fancy technological meters
to check moisture levels in the walls.
There
wasn’t a nook or cranny that he didn’t check out. The inspector was
diligent, professional and thorough.
Wouldn’t it
be great if we could have an inspector like that for everything in life? How
many things would stand up to that kind of scrutiny?
One thing that
will stand up, despite criticisms to the contrary, is the word of God.
Ultimately only
the Word and Holy Spirit can convict us, but for many people, they need a
concrete foundation that the Bible is truth before they will heed it.
Encourage your
skeptical friends and family to honestly investigate the truth of Scripture. The
archeological, historical and documentary evidence are overwhelming. The
evidence of changed lives and societies is undeniable.
Challenge them
to look into every dusty little nook and cranny with an open mind. Most
skeptics, who honestly search for the truth, come to accept Christ as Lord, much
to their surprise.
They soon end
up saying something along the lines of the words of King David
Into your
hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, O LORD, the God of truth.
Psalm 31:5 NIV
He is the God
of truth, His truth will stand up to examination.
If the house
inspector showed up today would your life and house pass inspection?
Until next
time,
Know that His
Word is truth. He is the Way, Truth and Life. He is a big God who can handle our
questions. His word always has the right answers even to those skeptics who try
to contradict.
He wants you to
build on Him, His word and His truth,
so
you can pass inspection!
Like it or not
inspection day is on the way!
God
bless.
