As we approach this Sunday, this day the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We must never fail to realize we have a hope, a hope not in ourselves, not in others, and not in our circumstances but a hope who sits at the right hand of God, the father. When I was a child my hope was in my parents as I became foolish and self-centered trying to find hope in myself and the things of this world all of these being corruptible and perishable; never lasting.

For a man wise in his own eyes there is more hope for a fool than for him. As a mountain falls and crumbles away and as a rock is moved from it’s place, as water wears away stones and as torrents wash away the soil of the earth so was destroyed the hope of man; of me in myself. So then I began to ask where is there hope? But that was then and this is now. So having found Jesus and him finding me I laid hold of a great hope, a true hope, a living hope.

Often times the circumstances here surround us cloud our minds and we set our hopes on our families, the parole board, and the failing things of this life. So often we forget the words of the angel,” Do not be afraid for Jesus who was sacrificed, he is not here, he is risen, go quickly and tell the news that Jesus is risen from the dead.” That is our only true hope, peace, joy and the very essence of life itself. Jesus said, “because I live you shall live also”.

So cast away all your fears, doubts, worries; all that is seeking to pull you away from realizing and taking hold of that which Christ has bought for you. A price paid by his death, a hope gained by his ascension. His ascension to the father guarantees your salvation, life eternal. So look up, look ahead, look to Jesus for he is looking for you.

We have a hope because Jesus lives;

there is no one in the tomb,

no one in the burial clothes,

no one on the cross,

There is no one there because Jesus is alive and well sitting with God reaching down with an outstretched hand to lay hold of you.

So know now; know forever more that you can face tomorrow just because he lives. You hope is real, your hope is alive and your hope loves you!
