I have been very busy for the past few weeks and sometimes it is hard to get a devotional out. I have a folder full of devotionals not finished or some just needing a little touch-up. For the next few days I will be using some of these, so the seasons will change quickly from summer to winter as I use these devotionals. This one was written last summer but still all of them speak to the heart. Thank You...DM
I watched him sneaking through the bushes. Every step was calculated and made with precision. Alert for any movement, his eyes never left the target. Slowly he worked his way into range, and then let his target have it. Success! He never missed.
I was watching a young boy of three or four hunting a stuffed lion in his back yard. He was intent on his adventure and I have no doubt that it was as real to him as any lion hunt could ever be.
He was doing it all on his own. He faced the adversary with bravery and the outcome was never in doubt.
Sometimes adults go lion hunting. We do it all on our own, face the enemy bravely and the outcome is no less certain. For us, the outcome is failure.
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 NIV
The Lamb can defeat (in fact has defeated) the lion. With His power, we will overcome.
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:1-5 NIV
Have you been tackling the enemy under your own power?
Until next time, when you encounter the lion, may you remember the power of the Lamb.
God bless.

Are you feeling torn up and defeated by the things of this world? Have your encounters with Satan the lion left you scarred and wounded?
There is an antidote in a personal relationship with Jesus. Email me and I’ll share a few Bible verses that explain why a relationship with Him is so important. I’ll also send you a prayer that will make it possible.
