Junk
Piles
I have been
going through a phase the last two weeks of going through the workshop, garage,
and landscaping the backyard. It has been a process of going through innumerable
crates and boxes of items. Having been a mechanical contractor for 25 years I
don’t like to throw anything out, because somewhere along the line, I just
might need it, or a part from it, to do something with.
I grew up in a
farming community where I knew farmers who had acres of stuff piled up. It has
been accumulating for years. Old buildings, vehicles, farm equipment, lumber,
you name it, and they probably have it somewhere.
They not only
have it, they know exactly where to find it in the midst of the pile. Need an
odd size plumbing fixture? How about a radio knob for a 1947 RCA? No problem.
If they don’t
have the actual item, they probably have the components to make up a
replacement.
Sometimes, our
lives are like those junk piles. There is what appears to be debris as far as we
can see. We look around us and all we see is more junk.
We have an
advantage over those piles, in that there is a loving God who is ready to pluck
us out from the debris of the world. There is noone in the wretched junk piles
of humanity who is not worth saving in the eyes of God.
If you have
already accepted Christ as your Savior, you have been freed from the debris and
are being prepared for a whole new role. No matter what the world says, you are
not "junk", you have an infinite value in the eyes of the creator.
Not only are
you no longer junk, you are being prepared to be kings and priests.
To him who
loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a
kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for
ever and ever! Amen. Revelation 1:5b-6NIV
From the junk
pile to the throne room. What a glorious transition.
Until next
time, may you come to know what value you have in God’s eyes.
God bless.

If you are lost
in the junk piles of life and are looking for something more, look to Christ.
Email me and I’ll share a few Bible verses about why a relationship with Jesus
is important and a prayer that will make it possible.
It doesn’t
matter how much junk is in your life, if you seek Him, He will meet you where
you are at. Don’t wait another day, be lifted from the debris today.
