Purpose

I had read on a website "The purpose and goal of this website is to promote and encourage Christians to move beyond the "simple faith" Christianity which has crippled the church for far too long.

Christianity is not simply a "faith," it is a lifestyle. Christianity is the life and death and resurrection of Christ going on day after day in the souls of individual men and in the heart of society.

I had to say yes and Amen. That's not the wording we use to describe the purpose of “Fury of faith Ministries”, but it very well could be. Our heart's desire is for you to encounter/experience and extraordinary God in ordinary life. We want to see people come to know Jesus, be encouraged in their faith walk and put what they believe into practice.

Yes, Christianity is about what you believe. Yes it's about faith. However it's more than that, it's an active lifestyle that should flood over into everything we say and do. The world should know we are Christians by the way we live and love, not just because we carry big Bibles when we leave the house on Sunday and to our once a week Bible study or because we have an upside down fish or "Honk if you love Jesus" bumper sticker.

Jesus did not say "People will know you are my disciples by what you believe". He said

John 13:34-35 NIV
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

The need to believe the right things is as important as ever. We tend to live out the things we truly believe or at least try to. The world wants to see that what we believe makes a difference in how we live before it will give any credibility to our message.

In this so called post-modern world which lacks an understanding or desire for objective truth people are still spiritually hungry. They are still dying for a lack of Jesus whether they accept that fact or not.

They are not looking for a powerless set of rules or beliefs. Why would they want our Jesus if He doesn't make a difference in our lives? They wouldn't and who can blame them?

If Jesus doesn't have the power to transform my life then he can't be much of a God. If He isn't much of a God then why would I want to serve Him? I wouldn't.

The way many (dare I say most) Christians live their lives is empty and powerless. That means either Jesus has no power or his professing followers don't truly believe what they profess.

The Christian faith is more than a profession of faith, although it does require a profession. It is a life transforming challenge that makes us stick out like a giraffe in a cattle herd. When we do it right we don't fit into the world.

When we no longer match up to the world in the way we live then people will be drawn.

Until next time may your walk and talk match your heart and mind. May you truly be the example of a transformed mind and life for all of the world to see!
