Prophetic
or Pathetic?
In
Jeremiah chapter 23, we are told that the Word of the Lord is "like a
FIRE" and "like a hammer that breaks rock to pieces." When we
speak, with each word that we utter, our breath goes out with each word. When
God speaks out of the mouth of His prophets, His Spirit (Breath) goes with them,
empowering them to accomplish everything that is spoken! When the Word of the
Lord comes to us from a true prophet of God, whether spoken or in written form,
they are going to be powerful and anointed. They will be "sharper than any
two-edged sword", causing a separation of the body (the natural man) to
take place from the spirit (the spirit man). Granted prophecy is also to edify,
comfort and encourage but that is to still line up with the Word
In
the same chapter, the Lord tells Jeremiah that He is against the prophets that
say that they have had a dream or a vision and that He has specifically sent
them to His people. He goes on to tell Jeremiah that these prophets ruin His
people and make them unprofitable.
It
was because these prophets did not spend time in the written of God and spend
time in His presence seeking His counsel. They did not spend time in prayer,
intercession and fasting before the Lord. Because they weren’t doing these
things on a consistent basis, God stopped talking to them. Yet that didn’t
stop them from "prophesying" out of their own souls concerning
"visions and dreams" that they claimed to have been divinely given. It
is up to the receiver to be spiritually aware (discerning) of the
"spirit" inspiring the speaker or the writer in whom they listen too
or read of a regular basis!
I
receive many e-mails from persons claiming to be prophets, prophetesses or
having a prophetic ministry, whose "messages" are nothing more than
"soul garbage!" They are not in line with the WRITTEN Word of God nor
are they a RHEMA word from the Spirit of God. When I "test the spirits (of
the speaker or writer) to see whether they are from God" by the WRITTEN
WORD OF GOD, most of the time I find out that they are not from God.
False
prophets know that most people in the Church have not read their Bible through
ONE TIME since they got saved, so they cannot use the Scriptures to determine
the "VOICE OF GOD" or the "VOICE OF MAN" in these messages!
That is why most people "blindly receive" every message sent to them
as being the VOICE OF GOD. What is worse, they forward these messages on to
others that forward them on to others and so goes the false message from the
false prophets.
The
Word says that the WORD OF THE LORD was rare in the days of the prophet Samuel.
I believe that the real word of the Lord is rarer still in these "last
days" as well. We are warned in I Corinthians 14, by the Apostle Paul,
"Let two or three prophets speak and let the others judge." Every
"prophetic message" must line up with the Written Word of God and the
source of the message must be determined as coming from the Spirit of God or the
spirit of man. Anyone that tells you or I that our questioning their message is
the same as questioning God, needs to immediately be suspect as being a FALSE
PROPHET! Every "prophetic message" must be judged!
I
firmly believe that the majority of the "prophetic messages" being
received and forwarded to literally thousands of people each day are not from
the Spirit of God. They are nothing but a bunch of mumbo-jumbo, "feel
good" gooble-dee-goop that does the reader no real spiritual good. You may
say, how can you say that?" It is because of the non-effect that these
messages are having on the reader. The messages are not hitting the soul of the
reader "like a HAMMER" and they are not burning into their spirit
"like a FIRE" and causing the reader to be convicted of "sin,
righteousness and judgment to come!" They are not causing the reader to
"rend their hearts and not their garments" (convict them to the core
of their beings and cause them to repent and truly turn from their wicked ways).
They are not demanding their readers to repent from their hearts, read the word
from cover to cover and DO what is required of them! They are not telling their
readers that Jesus is about to split the Eastern sky and that they have
been "weighed in the balances and found wanting" (they are not ready
to meet the Lord in the air).
The
majority of these so-called "prophetic messages" should rather be
called "pathetic messages" that DO NOTHING for the reader spiritually!
I
plead with you to MAKE SURE that every message that you receive FROM ME or any
other person sending you "a Word from the Lord" that it lines up with
the Written Word of God and you can determine that it IS from the Spirit of God
or not!
Then
and only then can you truly learn to "eat the fish and spit out the
bones". Be careful of what you
eat because, You and I truly become what we eat spiritually.
In
Christ alone,
